- Mr.Shu Fan (樊舒先生) is a licensed Washington DC Acupuncturist serving patients in DC, Virginia and Maryland area. Mr. Fan holds the National Certification of Oriental Medicine which includes the practice of Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology and Asian Bodywork Therapy. Mr. Fan is specialized in pain management, fertility and skin care. He is a member of American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). He pursue his Ph.D ObGyn study in China Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine under Prof. Tan Yong (谈勇) and had his clinic training in JiangSu Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture does improve egg quality for advanced age IVF.
Infertility patient advanced age 42 years old comes for acupuncture treatment. She tried four IVF 2010, 2011, 2015 and early of 2016. Each time about 10 eggs mature and fertilized. None of fertilized eggs passed the day 5.
She had come for 2 months. Then she went to have IVF retrieval. 9 eggs matured. The genetic tests approved 2 eggs. So she decided to transfer one of a day-5 blastocyst, which had 90% of its cells in good shape after being thawed. Her 12 days test result is good so far.
She said "I am sure that acupuncture helped me big time to get to this unprecedented result in my life!"
