When women grow older to thirties and forties, their follicle quality start to deteriorate. Therefore, getting pregnant becomes difficult than young aged women. Hormone treatment has limited effect to improve the quality of follicle. However, acupuncture and herbs do provide an unique avenue. I have a patient who is 47 years old. Her problem was follicle quality. She has elevated FSH. Her fertilized egg was not able to become develop into a blastocyst. She has tried many times of IVF. So she decided to try acupuncture and herbs medicine.
After several months of treatment, her fertilized egg grows to 5th day blastocyst and be frozen for the transfer.
